Title: American Indian and Alaska Native Relations
Abstract: The USDA promulgated a new regulation (DR1350-002, January 18, 2013) on Tribal Consultation, Coordination, and Collaboration, to which the Forest Service (FS) must comply. The US Forest Service is proposing to amend the Forest Service Manual (FSM) 1563–-American Indian and Alaska Native Relations and the Forest Service Handbook (FSH) 1509.13–-American Indian and Alaska Native Relations Handbook. Direction would be revised to implement the Departmental Regulation on Tribal Consultation, Coordination, and Collaboration, and for other purposes. After publication of the proposed directives, the Forest Service will conduct a 120-day tribal consultation concurrently with the 60-day public comment period.
