Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Listing All Chimpanzees As Endangered
Abstract: FWS is making a final listing determination on whether to list all chimpanzees, both captive and wild, as endangered under the ESA and eliminate the special rule that allows certain activities to occur which would otherwise be prohibited by section 9 of the ESA. The chimpanzee is endemic to 22 countries in Africa and is held in captivity in other countries, including the United States.
