Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Critical Habitat Designation for Three Southeastern Plant Species (Whorled Sunflower, Gladecress, Short's Bladderpod)
Abstract: FWS will, if determined to be prudent and determinable, designate critical habitat for three plant species--whorled sunflower (Helianthus verticillatus), gladecress (Leavenworthia crassa), and short's bladderpod (Physaria globosa)--pursuant to the ESA. Short's bladderpod occurs in Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Whorled sunflower is known from Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, and the unnamed gladecress is found in Alabama. FWS is developing a listing determination for the three candidate plant species as a separate rulemaking action (see RIN 1018-AZ11).
