Title: ●Classification Symbols
Abstract: Pursuant to Public Law 109-162, this rule will amend the Department of State immigrant visa classification table to add a symbol "IB5" for immigrant visas issued to self-petitioning parents of U.S. citizens who are the victims of physical abuse by a U.S. citizen son or daughter, even in cases where the U.S. citizen son or daughter has renounced citizenship or died. Designating this new classification under section 204(a)(1)(A)(vii) will enable the Department to identify applicants for such status in various immigrant visa information databases.
