Title: ●Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Reinstatement of Protections for the Gray Wolf in Wyoming in Compliance With a Court Order | |
Abstract:
We are issuing this final rule to comply with a court order that has the effect of reinstating the regulatory protections under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended , for the gray wolf (Canis lupus) in Wyoming. Pursuant to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia court order dated September 23, 2014, this rule reinstates the former special rules designating the gray wolf in the State of Wyoming as a nonessential experimental population. Because our September 10, 2012 (77 FR 55530), final delisting rule did not affect the status of gray wolves in the Northern Rocky Mountains outside of Wyoming, gray wolves in Montana, Idaho, the eastern third of Washington and Oregon, and north central Utah retain their delisted status and are not impacted by this final rule. |
