Title: Investigation Procedures
Abstract: The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will propose to revise 49 CFR part 831, which contains the NTSB's investigation procedures. The proposed revisions will update various terms and other outdated information; organize the part into mode-specific subparts; and describe the investigative party process in a more accurate manner than the descriptions contained in the current version of part 831. The NTSB's NPRM for part 831 will follow a notice the NTSB published in the Federal Register in June 2012, which requested comments concerning part 831. Following publication of the notice, the NTSB received six comments regarding the NTSB's investigative process, which are available at www.regulations.gov.
