Title: Collection of Natural Products for Traditional Cultural Purposes
Abstract:

This rule would clarify park superintendents' authority to permit American Indians and Alaska Natives to collect limited quantities of plant and mineral resources in parks for traditional cultural uses, practices, and activities. This change replaces an outdated National Park Service (NPS) regulation, maintains internal consistency in the regulations, and incorporates NPS management policies regarding NPS-managed ancestral lands of contemporary American Indian tribes and Alaska Natives.
