Title: Regulatory Amendment 20 to the Fishery Management Plan for the Snapper-Grouper Fishery of the South Atlantic Region
Abstract: Regulatory Amendment 20 adjusted the rebuilding strategy, acceptable biological catch, annual catch limit, maximum sustainable yield, minimum stock size threshold, and optimum yield; and revised management measures for the snowy grouper component of the snapper-grouper fishery. These adjustments addressed the recent stock assessment results for snowy grouper based on data through 2012. The actions in this amendment were necessary to prevent overfishing and continue rebuilding the snowy grouper stock while minimizing, to the extent practicable, adverse social and economic effects to the participants in the snowy grouper component of the snapper-grouper fishery.
