Abstract:
On July 8, 2016, SAMHSA finalized a rule to increase access to buprenorphine and the combination buprenorphine/naloxone (Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorders) allowing physicians prescribing buprenorphine to treat up to 275 patients. This Notice of Proposed Rulemaking would implement aspects of section 303 of the Comprehensive Addiction Recovery Act by establishing the criteria for Nurse Practitioners and Physicians Assistants to obtain a waiver to treat up to 100 patients. |
