Title: Incorporation of Updates of Crane Standards
Abstract: In June 2015, the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) proposed to incorporate by reference the Seventh Edition of the American Petroleum Institute's (API) Specification "Offshore Pedestal-Mounted Cranes" (API Spec 2C) into BSEE regulations. This standard was rewritten by API to provide more detailed specifications for design and manufacture of pedestal-mounted cranes to address their intended use. The final rule will allow BSEE to reference the best and most up-to-date requirements for the safe design and construction of pedestal-mounted cranes for Outer Continental Shelf fixed platforms.
