Title: ●Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Removal of the Black-Capped Vireo From the Federal List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife | |
Abstract:
This is a 12-month finding on a petition to downlist the black capped vireo and a proposed rule to remove the black-capped vireo from the Federal List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife. We propose to remove the species due to recovery. We were petitioned to downlist the species to threatened; however, during the review of the status of the species, we found that the black-capped vireo is no longer in danger of extinction throughout all or a significant portion of its range, nor is it likely to become endangered within the foreseeable future throughout all or a significant portion of its range. Therefore, we are proposing to delist it. Part of the breeding range is in Mexico; the Region will coordinate with Mexico regarding outreach on this action and post-delisting monitoring. |
