Abstract:
On September 15, 2016, the Commission published a Final Rule amending the Energy Labeling Rule to improve access to energy labels online and improve labels for refrigerators, ceiling fans, central air conditioners, and water heaters. 81 FR 63634. The amendments to 16 CFR 305.3(x), 305.13, and Sample Label 17 of Appendix L are effective on September 17, 2018. All other amendments are effective on June 12, 2017 . On September 12, 2016, the Commission published a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to require labels for portable air conditioners, large-diameter and high-speed small diameter ceiling fans, and instantaneous electric water heaters. 81 FR 62681. Additionally, it proposed eliminating certain marking requirements for plumbing products. The comment period closes on November 14, 2016. |
