Title: ●Marine Investigation Procedures | |
Abstract:
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) plans to issue a second Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to add subpart E, governing major marine casualty and marine accident investigation procedures, to 49 CFR part 831. The NTSB issued an NPRM on August 12, 2014, which proposed to revise part 831 and divide it into subparts A through E. Subparts A through D prescribe general investigation procedures and mode-specific procedures for aviation, highway, railroad, pipeline, and hazardous materials investigations. The NTSB plans to issue a Final Rule for subparts A through D, under RIN 3147-AA01, in December 2016. The NTSB plans to issue a second NPRM for subpart E. |
