Title: ●Federal Employees Health Benefits Program and Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program: Coverage of Children | |
Abstract:
The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is proposing to amend the meaning of child for eligibility to become enrolled as family members in the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB). Consistent with goals of the Affordable Care Act, OPM issued a regulation that expanded coverage under FEHB Program at 78 FR 64873 to include children up to age 26. This regulation furthered the goals of the Affordable Care Act, to expand healthcare coverage. This proposed rule clarifies that child means an unmarried dependent under age 26, which includes an adopted or natural child, foster child or stepchild that is under age 26. |
