Title: Eliminating Requirements for Employee Social Security Numbers in OSHA Standards 
Abstract:

OSHA substance-specific health standards currently require that employee social security numbers be included on medical and exposure records. Concerns have been raised about employee privacy and the potential for identity theft associated with these requirements. OSHA is considering alternatives available to the Agency to address these concerns, including the potential elimination of requirements for social security numbers on medical and exposure records.  OSHA is withdrawing this entry from the agenda at this time because elimination of requirements for social security numbers is part of the Standards Improvement Project IV described in RIN 1218-AC67.
