Title: ●HIRE Vets Medallion Program
Abstract:

The Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) is establishing regulations for the HIRE Vets Medallion Award Program as required by the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act of 2017. The program will solicit voluntary information from employers for the purposes of recognizing efforts by employers to recruit, employ, and retain veterans. The Act provides for awards for large and small/medium employers, requires the establishment of two levels of awards for large employers, and provides specific criteria for the large employer awards. The Act establishes a fund, designated as the "Hire Vets Medallion Award Fund", and allows the Secretary to assess a reasonable fee on employers applying for the HIRE Vets Medallion Award. The Act requires the Secretary to set the amount of the fee so that the fees deposited into the Fund cover the cost associated with carrying out the program.
