DOT/FAA RIN: 2120-AK48 Publication ID: Spring 2017
Title: Part 147 Aviation Maintenance Technician Schools (AMTS)
Abstract:

This rulemaking would revise the regulatory requirements concerning Curriculum, Operating Rules and appendices A through D. The current rule was last updated in 1992, therefore, the part 147 curriculum has not evolved to match fundamental changes in aircraft technology. The result of the changes would provide industry with trained mechanics that will have the capability to continue to maintain both older aircraft and technologically advanced aircraft.
