Title: ●Post-9/11 GI Bill | |
Abstract:
This part was first issued July 1, 2009. Because the Post-9/11 GI Bill was a new program and both DoD and VA wanted to ensure that all service members, veterans, and families were aware of the new program, this part included significant information explaining the entire program and not just the DoD responsibilities. When the part was revised, it only included the responsibilities of DoD, leaving the responsibilities of VA in their regulations. This part is no longer needed in the CFR because it has no applicability to anyone other than members of the Uniformed Services. All burdens and responsibilities of other than members of the Uniformed Services are covered in VA regulations. If this part is repealed, there will be no effect on VA’s regulations. Repealing the rule is a cost savings, and it supports website best practices because the public user is linked to the original and appropriate source Veterans Affairs. |
