Title: ●Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Listing the Hyacinth Macaw With a Section 4(d) Rule | |
Abstract:
The hyacinth macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus) is native to Brazil, Paraguay, and Bolivia. In 2012, we proposed to add the hyacinth macaw to the List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife as endangered. In 2016, we revised that proposed rule: We proposed to list the hyacinth macaw as threatened with a rule under section 4(d) of the Endangered Species Act. If we finalize the rule as proposed in 2016, the import and export of hyacinth macaws that meet certain criteria and interstate commerce would be allowed without a permit. |
