View Rule

This rulemaking would support the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection, and Restoration Act of 1991 by giving States administrative requirements for receiving Federal financial assistance from the National Coastal Wetlands Conservation program. The purpose of the program is to provide funding for long-term conservation of coastal wetland ecosystems by helping States to protect, restore, and enhance coastal habitats.  We would engage eligible States and territories in updating the rule to comply with current applicable laws and regulations and to identify opportunities for reducing administrative burden, removing obstacles, clarifying and simplifying language, and improving opportunities for program success.
