Abstract:
To reduce gasoline emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are a contributor to ground-level ozone (smog), the EPA's regulations establish maximum Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP gasoline standards of 9.0 to 7.8 psi sold during the summer ozone season based on the state, month, and the area's ozone designation. In this action, EPA is to approving Tennessee's request to relax that RVP standard for gasoline sold in Shelby County, Tennessee from 7.8 psi to 9.0 psi by revising 40 CFR 80.27. This rulemaking is not expected to have an adverse effect on air quality in this area. |
