Title: Pesticide Product Performance Data Requirements for Products Claiming Efficacy Against Invertebrate Pests
Abstract:

EPA is considering a proposal to revise the product performance data requirements to support registration of products claiming efficacy against three categories of invertebrate pests: those pests identified to be of significant public health importance (e.g., ticks, mosquitoes, cockroaches, etc.); wood-destroying insects (e.g., termites); and invasive invertebrate species (e.g., Asian long-horned beetle). The product performance data (efficacy studies) under consideration are intended to document how well the product performs the intended function (such as killing or repelling) against the invertebrate pest. In general, the pesticide data requirements are intended to provide EPA with data and other information necessary for the registration of a pesticide, the issuance of an experimental use permit, and for tolerances. This is one in a series of rulemakings initiated to consider improvements to the pesticide data requirements codified in 40 CFR part 158.
