Title: Commercial Learner's Permit Validity(Section 610 Review)
Abstract:

This rulemaking would amend Commercial Driver's License (CDL) regulations to allow a commercial learner's permit to be issued for one year, without renewal, rather than for no more than 180 days with an additional 180 day renewal. This change would reduce costs to CDL applicants who are unable to complete the required training and testing within the current validity period, with no expected negative safety benefits.
