Title: Amendment of New Locomotive Certification Stenciling Requirement | |
Abstract:
This proposed rule would amend 49 CFR 210.27(d) to eliminate the requirement to display a permanent badge or tag in the cab of new locomotives (stenciling) if locomotives are otherwise in compliance with railroad noise emission compliance regulations and have been inspected by the locomotive manufacturer. This rule is expected to relieve unnecessary regulatory burdens without any negative safety impact. |
