Title: Public Housing: Physical Needs Assessments (FR-5361) | |
Abstract:
This final rule requires public housing agencies to project current modernization and life-cycle replacement repair needs of its projects over a 20-year period, rather than a 5-year period, to better coincide with the useful life of individual properties and their building components and systems to ensure the long-term viability of the property. Publication of this rule will follow HUD’s report to Congress on HUD’s efforts to reduce the burden of the Physical Needs Assessment on Public Housing Authorities (PHAs). At this time, HUD is not moving forward with the rule that addresses the Energy Audits in PHAs. |
