Title: ●Strengthening the Section 184 Indian Housing Loan Guarantee Program | |
Abstract:
This proposed rule would strengthen the section 184 Indian Housing Loan Guarantee Program by updating the regulations to add new lender eligibility requirements, clarify the guarantee process, and identify new servicing requirements consistent with Federal Housing Administration (FHA) title II regulations. As the section 184 program assists more eligible borrowers and entities, it faces more program expenses and increased risk. These changes ensure program sustainability, increase borrower protections, and provide clarity for new and existing lenders who participate in the program. |
