NARA RIN: 3095-AB84 Publication ID: Fall 2017
Title: Regulations Affecting Publishing Documents in The Federal Register Publications
Abstract:

Under the Federal Register Act (FRA) (44 U.S.C. chapter 15), the Administrative Committee of the Federal Register (Administrative Committee) is responsible for issuing regulations governing Federal Register publications. The Administrative Committee has general authority under 44 U.S.C. 1506 to determine the manner and form for publishing the Federal Register and its special editions. The last major revision of title 1, chapter I of the Code of Federal Regulations was completed November 4, 1972. The Administrative Committee of the Federal Register proposes to update its regulations for the Federal Register system to clarify certain policies and to reflect current procedures and technological advances. This proposal would also revise the regulatory text to make it more readable and consistent with plain language principles.
