CFPB RIN: 3170-AA75 Publication ID: Fall 2017
Title: Mortgage Servicing Rules Under the Truth in Lending Act (Regulation Z)
Abstract:

In August 2016, the CFPB issued a final rule amending certain of the Bureau’s mortgage servicing rules under the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (Regulation X) and the Truth in Lending Act (Regulation Z). Through its outreach to industry and other stakeholders to understand their experiences in implementing the final rule, the Bureau has learned that certain substantive aspects of the final rule may be posing particular complexities for implementation that were not anticipated in the course of the original rulemaking. Thus, the Bureau has identified narrow issues concerning the timing of certain disclosure requirements in Regulation Z which it plans to revisit and clarify in a separate notice and comment rulemaking process.
