Title: Rescission of 22 CFR 203 in Support of Streamlining the Private Voluntary Organization Registration Process | |
Abstract:
USAID is publishing this interim final rule to rescind 22 CFR 203 in support of streamlining the registration process for Private Voluntary Organizations (PVOs). Foreign assistance circumstances have evolved since the establishment of the PVO registration process, and a careful review of USAID’s business practices has concluded that there is no longer a need for the time-consuming costly Agency-wide process. The two remaining USAID programs that legislatively require PVOs to register as a condition of their eligibility have incorporated a simplified registration process into each of their programs’ applications. Rescission of this rule is expected to reduce the burden on the public significantly, and produce cost savings of over $700,000 annually to USAID and additional savings for the PVO community. |
