Title: International Fisheries; Revised 2018 Commercial Fishing Restrictions for Pacific Bluefin Tuna in the Eastern Pacific Ocean; 2018 Catch Limit
Abstract: Under the Tuna Conventions Act, and to implement a binding resolution of the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission, NMFS proposes revisions to the regulations governing the commercial Pacific bluefin tuna fishery in the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission Convention Area (eastern Pacific Ocean), and to announce the final 2018 catch limit for the fishery. Revisions to the current regulations are necessary to account for the U.S. exceeding its 2017 catch limits (set by the applicable IATTC resolution). This rule would also announce the 2018 commercial catch limit for Pacific bluefin tuna fishery in the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission Convention Area.
