Title: Updates to Rulemaking and Waiver Procedures and Expansion of the Equivalent Level of Safety Option(Section 610 Review) | |
Abstract:
This rulemaking would streamline and improve commercial space transportation's general rulemaking and petition procedures by reflecting current practice; reorganizing the regulations for clarity and flow; and allowing petitioners to file their petitions electronically. This action would expand the option to satisfy commercial space transportation requirements by demonstrating an equivalent level of safety. These changes are necessary to ensure the regulations are current, accurate, and not unnecessarily burdensome. The intended effect of these changes is to improve the clarity of the regulations and reduce burden on the industry and the FAA. |
