Title: ●Special Flight Authorizations for Supersonic Aircraft
Abstract:

In the 1970s when the first Concorde aircraft began operation, the FAA prohibited civil supersonic flight over land in the United States (14 CFR 91.817) as it complied with its statutory duty to protect the public health and welfare from the effects of aircraft noise and sonic boom. This action would propose an update to 14 CFR part 91 appendix B, Authorizations to Exceed Mach 1.
