Title: Definition of Domiciliary Care | |
Abstract:
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) proposes to amend its rule defining domiciliary care to more accurately reflect the scope and breadth of services provided under this program. The Domiciliary Care Program in VA was initially established to provide shelter and a home-like environment to veterans who could not live independently but did not require admission to a nursing home. The program has evolved as the needs of our veteran population have changed. VA domiciliary care now also provides residential rehabilitation treatment for veterans with mental health or substance use disorders.
