Abstract:
The General Services Administration in consultation with the secretary of the Treasury is proposing to amend FTR 302-17.8 to permit relocation reimbursement for a number of expenditures. The 2018 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, Public Law 115-97 suspended both the moving expenses income tax deduction and the exclusion for qualified moving expense reimbursement. Relocation allowances include, but not limited to Lodging and meals for employee and family members for en route travel to new duty station, transportation (privately owned vehicle (POV) or commercial air), household goods shipment and short or long term storage, shipment of POV, real estate for selling and purchase, house hunting expenses, temporary quarters subsistence expenses (TQSE), and miscellaneous expenses. |
