Title: Investigation and Reporting of Commercial Space Accidents and Incidents | |
Abstract:
The NTSB plans to issue an NPRM to add part 829 to 49 CFR chapter VIII. Part 829 will include requirements for (1) reporting an accident or incident that occurs during a commercial space launch or reentry; and (2) preserving wreckage, payload, and records related to a commercial space accident or incident. Similar reporting and preservation requirements exist for aviation accidents or incidents, 49 CFR part 830, and railroad accidents. 49 CFR part 840. |
