CFPB RIN: 3170-AA75 Publication ID: Spring 2018
Title: Mortgage Servicing Rules Under the Truth in Lending Act (Regulation Z)
Abstract:

In August 2016, the CFPB issued a final rule amending certain of the Bureau’s mortgage servicing rules under the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (Regulation X) and the Truth in Lending Act (Regulation Z). Through its outreach to industry and other stakeholders to understand their experiences in implementing the final rule, the Bureau learned that certain substantive aspects of the final rule might be posing particular complexities for implementation that were not anticipated in the course of the original rulemaking. Thus, the Bureau issued a proposed rule in October 2017, which addresses narrow issues concerning the timing of certain disclosure requirements in Regulation Z. The Bureau finalized the proposed rule as proposed in March 2018.
