Title: Area of Overlap Between the Convention Areas of the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission and the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission
Abstract: Under authority of the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Convention Implementation Act and the Tuna Conventions Act, area of overlap (overlap area) exists between the respective areas of competence of the Commission for the Conservation and Management of Highly Migratory Fish Stocks in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean and the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission. NMFS seeks public comment on a proposal to change the application of the two Commissions' management decisions in the overlap area specifically applying additional Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission management measures in the overlap area rather than some or all of the Commission for the Conservation and Management of Highly Migratory Fish Stocks in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean management measures that currently apply there.
