DoD is proposing to amend the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) to modify the prescription for DFARS clause 252.228-7005, Accident Reporting and Investigation Involving Aircraft, Missiles, and Space Launch Vehicles, from permitting the contracting officer to include the clause in applicable solicitations and contracts to requiring inclusion of the clause in applicable solicitations and contracts. When contracting for the manufacture, modification, overhaul, or repair of aircraft, missiles, and space launch vehicles, this clause provides DoD with contractor notification and cooperation in the event of an accident under the contract. The modification of this DFARS clause supports a recommendation from the DoD Regulatory Reform Task Force.
