Title: ●Preliminary Cost Analysis Requirement for Certain Multiyear Contracts (DFARS Case 2018-D061) | |
Abstract:
DoD is proposing to amend the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement to implement section 817 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019. Prior to awarding a multiyear contract, a determination is made to ensure the use of a multiyear contract meets certain requirements. Section 817 amends 10 U.S.C. 2306b(i)(2)(B) to require the determination to be supported by a preliminary cost analysis when awarding a multiyear contract with a value that exceeds $678.5 million. Prior to the amendment, the determination could only be made after the completion of a cost analysis. This rule will implement the new requirement in DFARS subpart 217.1. |
