Title: Migratory Bird Management; Revision of General Exceptions to Permit Requirements | |
Abstract:
This rule would set standards and processes that the Service would follow to determine if a requesting entity could be considered for and approved as exempt from migratory bird permit requirements. Currently the Service's general exceptions to permit requirement regulations exempt State game departments, municipal game farms or parks, public museums, public zoological parks, accredited institutional members of the American Association of Zoological Parks and Aquariums, and public scientific or educational institutions from these permit requirements. The Service has received requests from other entities requesting that they, too, be considered for exemption. Currently the Service does not have a process to consider such a request. This regulatory change would reduce the information collection and cost burden on entities that the Service concludes would be exempt from permit requirements. |
