Title: Adjustment of Civil Monetary Penalties for Inflation 
Abstract:

The Department of Education (Department) issues these final regulations to adjust the Department’s civil monetary penalties (CMPs) for inflation. An initial catch-up adjustment was required by the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act Improvements Act of 2015, which amended the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act of 1990. These final regulations will provide the 2019 annual inflation adjustments being made to the CMPs in the Department’s regulations.
