Title: Modernizing Payment of Denied Boarding Compensation
Abstract:

This rulemaking would increase flexibility for airlines and potentially provide more convenient access to funds for consumers by amending 14 CFR part 250 to allow airlines to use prepaid or stored value cards, or other equivalent electronic payment media, in lieu of check or cash payment to compensate passengers who are denied boarding involuntarily due to oversales. This rulemaking would also allow airlines to provide a mandatory printed notice regarding passengers' rights in an oversales situation by electronic means.
