Abstract:
The General Services Administration is proposing to amend multiple parts of the Federal Management Regulation (FMR), to address recommendations to replace or modify regulations. Changes update and improve federal policy regarding personal property. Multiple FMR Parts will be addressed under this action. Proposed amendments include a requirement for agencies to maintain an asset management system (FMR 102-35); revisions to the donation program to incorporate recent legislation regarding museums, (FMR 102-37); removing duplicate definitions found across multiple FMR Parts; and the incorporation of consensus standards regarding asset management policy (Multiple FMR Parts). Proposed amendments address the following: Delete duplicate definitions across multiple FMR Parts; Clarify requirements for federal agencies to implement and maintain asset management systems (FMR 102-35); Revise regulation of donations to incorporate recent legislation regarding museums (FMR 102-37); and Incorporate consensus standards for uniformity in the application of best practices for approved asset management (Multiple FMR Parts). |
