Title: NEA Civil Monetary Penalties Adjustment 
Abstract:

In accordance with the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act Improvements Act of 2015, which further amended the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act of 1990, the NEA has published and finalized an interim final rule adjusting civil monetary penalties imposed by the NEA to incorporate an inflation adjustment. Per statute and our previous rulemakings, the NEA publishes a final rule every year which implements the required penalty adjustments.

Overall Description of Deadline: An interim final rule must be published by June 1, 2016 and the rule must be finalized by July 1, 2016. Subsequent annual adjustments will be made every year, per statute and Office of Management and Budget Memoranda, by January 15 of the subsequent year.
