Title: Reporting of Commercial Space Accidents and Incidents and Preservation of Wreckage, Evidence, and Records. | |
Abstract:
The NTSB plans to issue an NPRM adding part 829 to 49 CFR chapter VIII. Part 829 will (1) specify the commercial space launch or reentry accidents and incidents that must be reported to the NTSB; and (2) prescribe the wreckage, evidence, and records that must be preserved after an accident or incident. These regulations will assist launch and reentry operators in creating accident investigation plans pursuant to the Federal Aviation Regulations, 14 CFR 417.111(h), 431.45(c), which require cooperation with the NTSB. |
