Title: Enforcement of State Traffic Laws on DoD Installations in the United States
Abstract:

This rule proposes to establish responsibilities and prescribe procedures for enforcing traffic laws on DoD installations in the United States. Violations of State vehicular or pedestrian traffic laws on a DoD installation are subject to the fines and punishment under the criminal or civil law of the State, territory, possession, or district where the DoD installation in which the violation occurred is located. This new rule will consolidate existing DoD rules and guidance to form a single DoD rule governing traffic laws. The rules to be consolidated are 32 CFR part 634, "Motor Vehicle Traffic Supervision," and 32 CFR part 1290, "Preparing and Processing Minor Offenses and Violation Notices Referred To U.S. District Courts." Upon the finalization of this rule, those parts will be repealed. The revision of 32 CFR part 210 supports a recommendation of the DoD Regulatory Reform Task Force.
