Title: ●Considering Social Media in Evaluating Disability Claims | |
Abstract:
As part of our policy to comprehensively examine all information relevant to disability claims, we propose to clarify our current policy on the use of social media in evaluating disability claims. Specifically, we propose that designated Social Security employees may now examine social media accounts for applicants for Social Security payments and for current Social Security disability payment recipients who are undergoing a Continuing Disability Review. We define social media tools as electronic services (current examples include web-based tools, websites, and applications) that connect users and allow them to engage in dialogue, share information, collaborate, and interact. |
