Title: Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965--Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged | |
Abstract:
The Department will amend regulations in 34 CFR part 200 implementing programs under title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) to implement changes to the ESEA made by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). We are planning to amend those title I regulations that remain after various sections or subsections are rescinded, as noted in RINs 1810-AB36, 1810-AB39, 1810-AB40, 1810-AB41, 1810-AB42, 1810-AB43, 1810-AB44, because those sections or subsections have been fully superseded by changes to title I by ESSA (e.g., sections 200.13-200.21 on adequate yearly progress). The amendments in RIN 1810-AB47 would reflect changes necessitated by ESSA to existing regulatory provisions to make those provisions fully accurate in accordance with the statute. |
