Title: Air Quality: Revision to Definition of Volatile Organic Compounds--Exclusion of cis-1,1,1,4,4,4-Hexafluorobut-2-ene (HFO-1336mzz-Z)
Abstract:

This action revised EPA's definition of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC). The action excludes hexafluorobut-2-ene (also known as HFO-1336mzz-Z) from the definition of VOC on the basis that this compound makes a negligible contribution to tropospheric ozone formation. The VOC exemption petition was submitted by E.I. DuPont de Nemours on February 4, 2014. This action reduces burden because it relieves the industry from characterizing and tracking certain information associated with this particular compound.
