Title: Appraisal Threshold for Residential Estate Transactions; Exemption From Appraisals of Real Property in Rural Areas; Appraisal Review 
Abstract:

The FDIC plans to develop a joint rulemaking with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, and the National Credit Union Administration (the Agencies) to implement section 1127 of title XI of the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act of 1989 (Title XI).  Section 1127 amends title XI to exempt certain real property transactions in rural areas from appraisal requirements if certain conditions are met.
